What is Flow?
"It's more than just a name. Flow is a sports psychology term used to describe an athletes state of total absorption within a task. When an athlete is in a state of flow they are completely focused on what they are doing. It's a mindset that accompanied with a sense of knowing exactly what a task involves and how it will be completed."
Meet Chris, co-founder and coach at Flow Endurance. Chris is a Triathlon Australia Accredited Coach, Exercise Physiologist, Sports Scientist and Nutritionist.
Through his work Chris has had the opportunity to coach 100's of beginner, elite and professional athletes from a range of different sporting backgrounds. However, endurance has always been his passion, having previously represented Australia as a professional Olympic distance triathlete.
As a coach Chris prides himself on developing empowered and resilient athletes. He loves working with people from all walks of life and is particularly passionate about working with people overcoming injuries and those chasing their own physical best performances.
When Chris isn't coaching at Flow you'll catch him working as a Sports Scientist/Exercise Physiologist at Flinders University, spending time down the beach or perhaps loitering at his local coffee shop.
Meet Dave, co-founder and coach at Flow Endurance. Dave is a Triathlon Australia Accredited coach, exercise scientist and life-long competitive athlete across cricket, hockey, and endurance sports.
Dave has more than 20 years experience working with a wide range of athletes and sports through coaching. As a professional coach, Dave as honed his skill and focus toward triathlon and endurance sports over the past 8 years. He's helped people complete their first triathlon, trained countless iron distance and long-course triathletes, as well as fun runners through to ultra marathoners. He's particularly passionate about working with those looking to get the most out of themselves, whether that’s competitive athletes, mum and dad athletes, first timers, or the seasoned campaigner. Dave also loves working with our juniors (The Pups).
As an endurance junkie himself Dave has raced and competed in countless triathlons and running events including 9 Ironmans, with a personal best time of 9:31.
When Dave isn't coaching at Flow he's busy chasing after his two boys and spending time with his beautiful wife, Sarah. Dave also works as a Chaplain at Flinders University & and has a truly holistic approach to life, work, and his coaching.
